The Whitefish Women's 18 Hole League will open their 2017 season on Wednesday May 10th, with a 1:00 pm 'Welcome Back' scramble, followed by appetizers in Bogey's Grill. This event will be open to both members and prospective members of the Whitefish Women's leagues.
The League plays most Wednesday mornings from May through mid September. Each week there is either an individual or a team event, with prizes awarded to the winners. There will be monthly luncheon meetings, and many special events throughout the season including a Member/Guest, Women of Whitefish (WOW)/Cause Day combined 18 and 9 hole league fun day, and a 2-day championship. The League also offers a season long Match Play, and a Shoot Out end of season tournament for members who have qualified with low net scores throughout the season. Participation in each weekly or special event is by signing up during the preceeding week, so no need to find substitutes.
League is a great opportunity to meet new friends who enjoy the challenge and fellowship of golfing together. Additional information is available by calling the Whitefish Pro Shop at 218-543-4900. Watch for the early season 'join in the league experience'. . Meet the members, and share in the fun of being a part of the league before becoming a member.

The Shoot-Out is another optional 'side' event. It costs $10 (one time) to participate. Your official scorecards (from league) and any other scorecard you turn in that is attested by another league member are qualifying scores. Your NET SCORE (gross less handicap) for the FRONT 9 HOLES ONLY are accumulated. At the end of the season, the top 10 net scores and ties play off in a 9 hole match play elimination tournament. All 10 players tee off together, and one player is eliminated on each hole, based on net score on each hole. When there are ties, there is a "shoot out" - i.e. the Pro picks a spot for either a chip or a putt, and the winner of the tie goes on to the next hole. It's a really fun tournament. One hundred percent of the money collected is paid out in prizes.
